Cassandra (Ms. Saltz) has retreated into a state of isolation and silence for the last four weeks. She doesn't recognize her best friend, Layla (Ms. Gulturk.) Her father, Gary (Mr. Bandille), his fiancee Anne (Ms. Donovan), Gary's other daughter Stephanie (Ms. Tarpey) and Cassandra's ex-boyfriend Tim's (Mr. Luke) lives are, meanwhile, all thrown into a state of distress. Having lost his wife to suicide three years ago, Gary fears Cassandra's episode could be related to his wife's illness but refuses to put Cassandra in a hospital, insisting he can care for her himself. Through the silence, loneliness and distance, they all must come to together when Cassandra's condition begins to worsen.
